The Irving Association of Texas Professional Educators wants to welcome you to the 2007-2008 school year.  ATPE is an educational professional organization that has membership open to all educators, staff, and even community members who want to make a difference in the lives of the students in Irving.

Our organization was created in 1980 in response to the Texas Teachers group merging with NEA and the development of an educator union in Texas.  ATPE is not a union. It is a member owned and member directed association.  We are the largest non-union educational group in Texas and in the United States.

We have the best liability insurance for your money.  We are well respected across the state for the positive impact we are making on education. We also have member discounts, legal services, and scholarships.

This year we are offering a 10 month payroll deduction option for payment of your membership dues.  If you are on the current 5 month payroll deduction plan and wish to change that to 10 months, you will need to see your building rep and sign a new form.  If you want to stay on the 5 month plan, then your plan will “Roll Over” and you do nothing. Dues are Professional-$140, Associate-$75, New Teacher-$85. (This includes our $10 local dues.)

2007-2008 will be a great year as we meet the challenge of educating Irving’s finest:  our students.  The parents of Irving are sending you their best…their children.  Now we must do our best to teach the children to be life-long learners.  We are so blessed to be a part of the Irving ISD, ATPE, and especially the USA. So, exercise your freedom to teach!
